Yeah, that's weird. I don't know what the problem is. I don't have the technical know-how to figure it out--I'll ask EdmundtheJust. Lasaraleen Tarkheena (talk) 06:21, December 15, 2013 (UTC)

Hullo Harry, to better clear up the source code on talk pages, you should type in {{User:Harry_granger/sig}} and it will show up as such: "  Harry granger   Talk |  contribs 00:24, May 23, 2014 (UTC) " thusly leaving the pages cleaner. Whenever you use the four tildes, ~~~~ or however it is you sign your signature, it makes a rather large mess of it all. So I created the new method for you to use.

What is the command that you are using to sign your name? ~Ed
  • I fixed the date. When I copied the code over, I brought a wee bit too much of it over. If you have modified your signature in the preferences section, so that whenever you type ~~~~ it will insert your custom signature that you created, it marks the source code with the orignal, instead of the template you created {{Hg}}. The best way to fix that is to not use ~~~~ and instead, type in {{Hg}} or {{User:Harry_granger/sig}}

When you select the wikitext option, it reads the code that you put in, which is the {{Hg}} template. It reads that for your signature but gives the source code for the template when you use it.

Sorry about the lack of clarity in the last post. Instead of the custom signature recording the name of your template, it records the information in the template itself. Pretty much, signing {{Hg}} is the best way to do it.
