The Unknown Horse was a talking horse of Narnia.

Early life[]
Throughout the Chronicles[]
When the ape Shift had deceived all of Narnia that Aslan had returned and handed it over to the Calormenes, the horse submitted himself to being workhorse for the Calormenes under the false impression that Aslan had asked it of him. The Calormenes treated him cruelly, brutally working him to the point that he snapped and furiously told them he was doing all he could.
The incident was witnessed by King Tirian and Jewel the unicorn, who, enraged at the sight, slew the Calormenes without a second thought. As Tirian cut the horse’s traces, he asked him what had happened and how the horse had come to be enslaved, to which the horse responded that it was on Aslan’s orders. Suddenly, a number of Calormenes began to come upon the scene, causing Tirian and Jewel to flee. It is possible the horse would have gone with them had he not been suffering from exhaustion and fatigue.
