The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician's Nephew is an epic fantasy film, based on the original novel by C.S. Lewis.

The film was originally scheduled to be the next, fourth film, of the series, and was set to be released some time in the year 2014. However, it was decided that the next planned film would instead be The Silver Chair, but will not start filming until late 2018 because of legal purposes.

Diggory Kirke has been living with his maternal uncle Andrew, a great though reckless magician. He is restless until he befriends Polly Plummer who lives next door. By using two his uncle's magic rings, the two find themselves trapped between worlds in time. While trying to find a way home, they come to a world full of statues and uncertainty and unintentionally reawaken Queen Jadis from her hundred-year slumber. She follows them back to the real world and starts wrecking havoc and chaos in England.

Diggory manages to use one of the rings to send her away, but they all end up in a new, incomplete realm. There, they meet the mighty lion Aslan, who uses his great powers to give life, beauty, and splendor to the world around them, and human speech to the animals. Unfortunately, Jadis sees this as an opportunity for her to rule over this new world as queen; she then finds an ancient mystical tree and eats one of the fruit. According to Aslan, it is the fruit of eternal life and youth. Diggory realizes that he could use the fruit to save his sick mother.
