The North River formed the northern border of Ettinsmoor. It was described as a large, fast-moving river with many rapids and waterfalls, hemmed in by steep gorges.
The North River was spanned by an ancient Giants' Bridge that was the beginning of the giants' road leading to Harfang. This river separated Ettinsmoore from the Wild Lands of the North.
Appearance in "The Silver Chair"[]
Puddleglum, Eustace, and Jill traversed the North River by way of the Giants' Bridge during their journey to find the Ruined City of the Giants.
Immediately after crossing the gorge, the travelers met the Black Knight and the Lady of the Green Kirtle, who directed them to Harfang, the city of the Gentle Giants.
