Manticores were dangerous creatures who lived in the World of Narnia. These creatures have the body of a red lion, the tail of scorpion, and a human-like head with three rows of sharp teeth. They can use their scorpion tails to stab their enemies, or shoot poisonous spines to either paralyze or kill their enemies, before devouring every single part of them (including the bones).
Game Adaptions[]
In the Narnia Solo Adventure Games Series book titled The Return of the White Witch, Manticores were part of the resurrected White Witch's Army that guarded the entrance to the Cursed Cave, by which is the Base and where the White Witch was resurrected. Manticores were present during the Third Battle of Beruna, where one was seen fighting Gauldum and another Manticore was fighting a Minotaur. Shortly after the death of the White Witch again, the Manticore surrendered and swore allegiance to the Royal Narnians.
- "After all you were'nt puny Narnians, your Majesty, I offer my life for you."
"What is your name?"
"Vamron your Majesty" - ―Charles and Vamron (The Return of the White Witch)
Concept Art[]
Manticores were first mentioned in the concept art of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005) where they are part of the White Witch's Army. They never made an appearance in the movie, though, and it is unknown if these creatures are going to be seen in the future films of The Chronicles of Narnia.
