The United States of America, or America for short, was visited by the Pevensie parents and Susan in 1942 prior to the third adventure in Narnia. Mr. Pevensie was engaged in a summer lecturing tour there for sixteen weeks. It is the only Earth country besides England mentioned in the seven books.

The United States of America was first established in 1776 AD from the thirteen original English colonies in America following the American Revolution. It is now made up of fifty states with a capital city in Washington, District of Columbia

Other notable cities include Philadelphia, New York City, Boston, Chicago and Los Angeles. It is possible that Mr. Pevensie lectured in one of these cities whilst in America.

The Pevensies' trip to America came six months after The United States entered World War Two. Their ocean crossing was almost certainly a dangerous undertaking due to the unrestricted submarine warfare taking place during the Battle of the Atlantic. During the war, The United States remained a close ally of England and other allied countries.
