Caspian, mostly referred to as Prince Caspian, is the Walden-Disney adaptation of the book character with the same name. He was portrayed by English actor by Ben Barnes in Prince Caspian and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

History[]

Pre-Series[]

Caspian was born as the nephew of Miraz.

Throughout the Chronicles[]

Prince Caspian[]

Caspian escapes the Castle the night that his cousin is born.

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader[]

Caspian appeared in Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Abilities[]

Caspian's rigorous education as a prince made him proficient in many areas, including archery, hunting, horsemanship, swimming, diving, and jousting. He learned to play the recorder and the theorbo. His academic studies included cosmography, rhetoric, heraldry, versification, history, law, physic, alchemy, and astronomy.[citation needed]

  • Expert Marksman: He was a skillful archer, being able to beat even Susan in a couple of matches.[citation needed]
  • Expert Swordsman: He was a naturally skillful fencer, and though he had his own sword at first, Peter later gave him his sword, Rhindon, to signify that he was the next rightful king.[citation needed]
  • Skilled Swimmer: In The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, it was revealed that Caspian was also skilled in swimming, judging by how he dove into the sea to help rescue Edmund, Lucy, and Eustace when they returned to Narnia.[citation needed]

Behind the scenes[]

  • Caspian is portrayed significantly older in the films compared to his age in the books:
    • Prince Caspian
      • Novel: 13
      • Film: 15
    • The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
      • Novel: 14
      • Film: unknown
  • Caspian was originally portrayed with a Spanish accent. Barnes modelled his Spanish accent on Mandy Patinkin's performance as Inigo Montoya in The Princess Bride. For Voyage of the Dawn Treader, this was dropped for Barnes' natural English accent instead.[citation needed]
