Adamson also directed and produced the Shrek films.
Adamson has admitted to being a longtime fan of the Chronicles and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (film) was his debut as live-action director. He has stated that he directed the films according to his interpretation and imagination of them as an eight-year-old boy.

Adamson was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2006.[1]
